Since 1983, Coast Community Radio has relied on volunteers – both on and off the air – to bring community radio to the Lower Columbia Pacific Region.  Along with our members and underwriters, volunteers are at the very core of the Tillicum Foundation.

If you are interested in volunteering at the radio station, please send us an email at volunteer@kmun.org or call the station during business hours (9AM-5PM, Monday-Friday) at 503-325-0010.  We are always looking for personable, invested community members to greet guests and callers to the station, digitize our music library and help with tasks around the Tillicum House or at events.  Volunteer shifts can be as flexible as you are, so please join us and lend a bit of time and value to your community radio.

Interested in hosting your own show?  Programmer training AKA “Radio 101” happens a few times a year for our off-air volunteers who are interested in becoming on-air programmers for KMUN or KCPB.  We highly encourage volunteer participation prior to taking the Radio Class.

*COVID-era NOTE: We are slowly returning to our Radio 101 classes, and will first be contacting those who have applied during the pandemic. New applications are always welcome! Please understand that there may be a waiting period while we catch up on lost time. Direct questions about on-air volunteering to emma@kmun.org
