United Way Launches DINE UNITED Campaign

While many visitor-centric businesses and restaurants are suffering from the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many needs of locals have become invisible at the same time. From personal safety to health, education and financial stability, upward of 20 percent of Clatsop County residents are struggling to make ends meet.
To combat these problems, the United Way of Clatsop County is launching the DINE UNITED Campaign to give community members a chance to help address these issues. The campaign will run from October 15 through November 15, 2020.
“Our North Coast restaurant community has always been here for United Way,” Jennifer Holen, executive director of United Way of Clatsop County, said. “Now with the pandemic causing restaurant closures and new regulations upon re-opening, it’s those reliant on nonprofits as well as the restaurant industry that need our help.”
The DINE UNITED campaign gives visitors and residents of Clatsop County a simple way to make a collective impact. “Funds raised from the campaign will support the most vulnerable in our community, and the campaign itself involves dine-in and take-out
coupons from participating restaurants resulting in much-needed business for them,” Holen said. “Every time we shop local, dine local, donate local we are improving the lives of many who call the North Coast home.”

Holen said the key components of the campaign are:
 Make a donation to United Way of Clatsop County through the DINE UNITED Campaign and for every $25 donation, you will receive a gift of a $5 coupon to use at area restaurants for dine-in or take-out. Restaurants will be reimbursed by United Way for each coupon redeemed.
 Post a picture from your favorite local restaurant and tag it #DINEUNITEDUWCC for a free chance to win prizes from our local restaurants.

 Enter a free drawing by visiting any participating DINE UNITED Restaurant and scanning the QR code on the event poster, no purchase required.
