“Rising Star” Classical Piano Concert in Cannon Beach

“Rising Star” Simon Karakulidi will perform works by Schubert, Liszt, and Franck in an all-classical piano concert, Weds., Nov. 13, at 7pm, sponsored by Portland Piano International. This concert is free and open to the public. “Rising Star” Simon Karakulidi was born in 1997 in Novorossiysk, Russia. Mr. Karakulidi began his studies with professor Mira Marchenko at Central Musical school in Moscow in 2013. Simon is a prize-winner of the First Vladimir Krainev Piano Competition in Moscow, and 1st prize winner of the “Astana Piano Passion” piano competition. Simon participated in the master-classes with world-acclaimed musicians such as Leon Fleisher, Arie Vardi, William Grant Nabore and Pavel Nercessian. In June 2018 Simon was awarded Enlight Prize at the Art of Piano Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2019 Simon was awarded the 1st Prize from Ann & Charles Eisemann International Young Artists Competition and the Grand Prize of Naftzger Competition. Since August 2016 Simon has been studying with Stanislav Ioudenitch at Park University under the full scholarship. “Rising Stars” are concert pianists of the future, selected by Portland Piano International from around the world. These young artists perform multiple recitals in the Portland Metro area and around Oregon. Their venue on the Oregon Coast is at Cannon Beach Community Church, on the 2008 Steinway Model B seven-foot grand piano. This concert is the fifth concert in the Fall 2019 Steinway Piano Concert Series sponsored by Cannon Beach Community Church.
