Trivia Night at KALA on Tuesday, November 19th.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Astoria Branch is holding a “FUN”draiser at KALA, 1017 Marine Drive, 6pm Tuesday, November 19th to benefit the Tech Trek scholarship fund. Tech Trek is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) camp for young women.

The event is a Trivia night with four rounds, one each on the topics of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. There will be prizes for each team or individual winner of each round. It’s a great way to learn more about the STEM fields.

Cost of admission is $5 with soda, beer, wine, and food concessions from various area businesses available for purchase to benefit the Tech Trek scholarship fund.

The American Association of University Women, AAUW, a nationwide non-profit, is committed to advancing equity to women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. The Astoria Branch was established in 1927. Since 2017 the AAUW Branches in Astoria and Seaside have financially supported 26 young women to attend Teck Trek. The cost is $650 per attendee with $600 being awarded as a scholarship from the Astoria and Seaside Branches.
