EDWARD JAMES

Actor/Director/Designer/Playwright, Edward James has been a theater professional for
thirty years. After earning a Masters in Playwrighting from Portland State University,
he developed his acting chops in the Midwest and South working at such prestigious
theaters as The Tyrone Guthrie, Actors Theater of Louisville and Kentucky
Shakespeare Festival. He lived a decade in New York, doing regional theater and
appearing on All My Children, Guiding Light, The Equalizer, The Cosby Show and Dr. Ruth,
among others.
Prior to returning to the city of his birth last year, Edward was the Artistic Director of
Sylvia's Class Act Dinner Theater in Portland, producing and directing more than 50
shows during his 13-year tenure. Currently he’s doing some directing and designing
for The River Theater and writing a bit. And, once upon a time, he was a military
intelligence agent.
