STONE SOUP BOWL 2019

The Harbor is excited to announce the 16th Annual Soup Bowl! On Friday, June 21, ticket holders are invited to join us at the Loft at the Red Building, where they can select a handmade bowl to keep and fill it with soup donated by area restaurants. There will also be donated appetizers, desserts, salad, bread, wine, beer and a signature cocktail. The Harbor is pleased to welcome our keynote speaker: Margaret Frimoth, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Clatsop Community College. Local attorney AJ Wahl will also speak about the legacy of domestic violence and its repercussions in family law. The Harbor’s new director, Terri Steenbergen, will talk briefly about the advocacy center’s programs and emcee Dida DeAngelis will keep the evening flowing as guests enjoy a paddle raise, a silent auction and door prizes donated by area businesses including a gift certificate for a zipline tour with High Life Adventures and a beautiful handmade vase from Icefire Glassworks in Cannon Beach. All proceeds from the Stone Soup Bowl benefit the Harbor, Clatsop County’s only advocacy center for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
This Astoria tradition owes its existence to the generosity and vision of Richard Rowland and the Astoria anagama kiln. This year, the team of volunteers: David Campiche, Howard Clarke, Loren Cross, Brand Dichter, Edie Gore, Jimmy Mandes, Randy McClelland, Colin Meston, Ben Thompson, Nancy Walsh, Merrie Young and of course Richard Rowland himself, created over
150 individual bowls for the Harbor, a true labor of love.
Stone Soup Bowl 2019 Silver Sponsors are Cannon Beach Vacation Rentals, Columbia Memorial Hospital, Providence Seaside Hospital, Roland Schorr & Tower and Seaside Attorneys. Bronze Sponsors include Imogen Gallery, Law Offices of AJ Wahl and Pat’s Pantry and Spices.
