Tillamook & Clatsop County
Child Care Support
Northwest Regional Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R), serving Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties, is located at 2515 3rd Street, Tillamook, OR, and at NW Regional ESD at 3194 Marine Drive in Astoria, OR. Support Specialists, Virginia Garcia and Debby Reed know that getting started with child care in rural counties can be a struggle because of lack of child care providers and provider supports. But they want you to know that Northwest Regional CCR&R exists to support child care and early childhood education providers in the region and make sure they have access to trainings and other efforts to help meet the needs of children and families.
CCR&R staff provides these services to help families stay healthy and stable and to create quality, available child care. Local Specialists offer training, professional development opportunities and coaching which includes participating in Oregon’s Quality Rating & Improvement System, called Spark. Navigating the Employment Related Daycare System (ERDC) with families who receive subsidies through Department of Human Services (DHS) can be tricky and they offer technical assistance to families in process and they provide support to new new individuals who would like to get started in child care business as listed or licensed providers.
Choosing child care is one of the most important decisions families make and it can be difficult to find reliable information about child care options. CCR&R staff help parents with referrals to local child care providers, information on state licensing requirements, consumer education, connections to support for special needs, and understanding the QIS/Spark Star-Rating system. Anyone can access CCR&R support either by phoning the Tillamook Service Center at 503-815-4448 or the Clatsop Service Center at 503-338-3369. You can reach specialist aid by email at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
