The North Coast Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Conductor Cory Pederson, is proud to present two concerts of classical favorites titled “Classical Reflections.” This orchestra is a small ensemble of dedicated North Coast musicians offering live classical music in an intimate concert setting.

The programs will include Edvard Grieg’s “The Holberg Suite,” Johannes Brahms’s “Academic Festival Overture,” and Giuseppe Verdi’s “Nabucco Overture.” “Marche Slav,” and “Andante from Symphony No. 6” by Tchaikovsky will also be performed, as well as Gabriel Faure’s “Pavane, Op. 50.”. In addition (and with a bit of humor) will be NCCO’s first performance of Peter Schickele’s “Schleptet in Eb Major.” Conductor Pederson says, “We invite all families and friends to attend these inspiring & reflective concerts.”

The first concert will take place on Friday, May 18th at Cannon Beach Community Church (132 E. Washington St., Cannon Beach) beginning at 7 p.m. The second concert will be on Sunday, May 20th at the Rockaway Beach Community Church (400 S. 3rd Avenue, Rockaway Beach) beginning at 3 p.m. Admission to the concerts is FREE (Suggested donation $10). All concerts are very family-friendly.
This all-volunteer orchestra is committed to providing opportunities for musicians to play, and audiences to hear, live classical music for the benefit of the community. There are ongoing opportunities for community members to become involved as performing musicians or support staff. The orchestra is now seeking string players (violin, viola, cello, & bass) at this time, as well as woodwind and brass musicians, and invites those who are interested in participating to contact the Conductor, Cory Pederson, at 503-836-2198 or For more information about NOCS, please visit the NOCS website at:
