The Rural Organizing Project will present a training in Astoria on Sept. 16 for area residents who would like to learn more about why immigrants are here and how being undocumented affects their lives. The training, entitled Immigration 101, will begin at 1 at the Columbian Theater, 1102 Marine Drive. The training is free and open to the public.

“Immigration 101” is meant for anyone interested in learning why there are so many undocumented people, how the Trump administration’s policies affect immigrants, and how area residents can form relationships with their immigrant neighbors.

The Rural Organizing Project is an Oregon-based organization working for a standard of human dignity, equality and the right to self-determination.
