PROGRAM FOR OUR APRIL 17TH MEETING. “Women in Leadership”
Our 3 panel speakers Julene West, Norma Hernandez and Nayeli Lopez will share their coming to Astoria, finding and working to solve needs and their busy lives today. Come to hear their passions, 5:30, Tuesday, April 17th in the Flag Room of the Astor Library.

Julene arrived back in 1994. She’s lived in Mexico, Guatemala and Spain, but found home in Astoria. Her Spanish language skills proved most useful and she’ll talk about the beginnings of bringing people together around concerns for a Hispanic organization as well as her works today.

Norma visited Astoria in 2002, fell in love the city and moved here in 2003. She had years in Puerto Rico and Boston. By 2009 she was involved with public health and many related volunteer roles. She’s served on the Hispanic Council, Food Web, Parks & Rec, Food Co-op and ADHDA. Her energy and drive is catching!

Nayeli is a Senior at AHS. She will share her senior project “Latina” which is a 4 day leadership camp at Camp Kiwanilong.
